You Are the Answer to Job Creation in Rochester
The VJF supports owner-entrepreneurs seeking to create jobs. We believe that people are what really matter, as much as the ideas they bring to the program. The VJF Jobs Kitchen Accelerator program uses an experiential learning approach developed by CO.STARTERS for small business formation and growth, and couples that with speakers, facilitators, and mentors to assist owners in successfully launching their business.

Practical Business Advice
The program develops business concepts in easy to understand language to focus on the important practical steps necessary to quickly launch or grow a business.

Cohort of Support
We also believe that individuals thrive in the context of community. The Jobs Kitchen brings people together to learn from one another and create a strong network of support for like-minded entrepreneurs.

Future Funding
The Jobs Kitchen Accelerator program validates and refines your business model and customer value proposition of each participant, with the goal of increasing their growth potential and readiness. The VJF is available to assist ready participants on funding their business.

Program Details
The Jobs Kitchen Accelerator meets for 3 hours once a week for a nine-week evening program. Participants develop and fine-tune ideas, critically examine their business models, and determine next steps through real-time feedback from mentors in the community. Guest speakers bring "real world" views on key subjects.

During the first eight weeks, sessions focus upon knowing yourself, knowing your customer and developing customer relationships, how to start small and grow, types of businesses and legal considerations, understanding costs and breaking event, projecting sales and cash flows, and lastly how to set goals and access capital needed to grow and create new jobs. Week 9 celebrates progress and includes presentations by each business to the larger VJF community.

The program is offered three times each year. To learn more, click here to download our informational brochure. Specific questions can be directed to jobskitchen@venturejobs.org
