Underwriting and Loan Management
Robert Lowenthal retired from Canandaigua National Bank and Trust Company in mid-2015 after a 42 year career in commercial and retail banking. His banking experience includes lending to agriculture, retail, service, manufacturing, wholesalers, commercial and residential developers, restaurants, contractors and many non-profit organizations. Clientele consisted of small to medium sized businesses located in Western and Central New York. His responsibilities included managing groups of lenders; business development and management of new and existing commercial lending and depository relationships; member of officers’ loan and problem loan management committees; staff mentoring and training; and member of senior management’s strategic planning group.
Prior to joining CNB, he worked for Lincoln First Bank, Citibank (New York State) NA, Bankers Trust Company of Western New York and KeyBank, NA in Rochester. Bob graduated from The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee with a B.A. in Economics with concentrations in Mathematics and Literature. Bob graduated from the University of Buffalo Banking School, the ABA Stonier School of Banking and the BAI Executive Management School of Banking.
